F.A.Q.

1. What kind of work do you do and what makes you unique?

“Web Developer” is a title that can have multiple meanings -- from an artist who designs stunning graphics to a programmer who writes clean, efficient code. I’ve found that these two skills alone are not enough to produce an effective web presence. Web development is more about people than it is about computers -- who will use your website and who will maintain it? As a Web Consultant, in addition to a great looking design and clean, efficient code, I will work with you from a people-centered perspective to ensure your site reaches your target audience.

3. What kind of clients do you have?

I predominately work with small and mid-sized businesses, though my clients have also included individuals wanting a personal web presence. I have worked with clients needing to launch their first site, however, most of my clients have an existing site that needs an overhaul because it just isn’t meeting their needs.

4. How much do you charge?

A number of factors go into pricing a project, particularly the client's needs and budget. The projects I have worked on have ranged from $60 to $3000+. On an hourly scale, this equates to roughly $50-$65 per hour.

5. What kind of business relationship will we have?

Before a single page is designed, I will meet with you (either in person or via phone) to discuss your web needs and wants. Probably the most important question we’ll discuss is “Why?” From there I can provide an accurate quote of the work required to meet those needs. From there, I’ll work with you throughout the design process to ensure we both remain on the same page. The end result is a site that you understand and feel confident that it will produce results.

6. How do I pay you?

After we have agreed on a quote, I generally begin work after a 20% deposit has been made. Upon completion of the project, the remainder will be due prior to the site/design is turned over to you. I accept payments via check and PayPal (which allows you to pay via credit or debit card).

7. How long have you been in business?

I began working full time as a freelance designer and developer in September of 2008. I have spent the previous 7 years working with developing sites as a hobby and a way of supplementing my income.

8. Where are you located?

I live and work in Tyler, Texas -- most of my clients are in the East Texas region.

9. What is the best way to contact you?

E-mail (pauljamesdd@mac.com) is a great way to get a hold of me, but you can also reach me at 936.645.1153.
